In August I got back from a fishing trip in Northern New Mexico, and I was beat San Juan River Picures .
I was only walking in knee deep water, but it really worked me. Then I went to see my dad in the old folk's home, and I saw the future (and it wasn't pretty).
I weighed 228, could do ONE pushup, and felt like $#&%. I started walking, and doing some simple exercises. Then I started cutting back on the crap I ate. Don't get me wrong, I still eat the same crap, just less of it.
I was at the doctor on Tuesday and weighed 207, my cholesterol 176, and my BP was 106/66.
The doc said I only had 30 more pounds to go. (I didn't have the heart to tell him I weighed more than 180 when I was in high school).
I'm living proof it can be done, it's not easy, but it can be done.
Do you mind if I ask how old you are? Hell, I'm 55 and even in high school or college I could only do 30 in a row.
65 is HUGE !!!

believe me, i was surprised too. this past summer, i could do about 35 in a row. didn't realize i had made such gains considering that my workouts are 60-70% cardio and 30-40% strength. i really don't do pushups daily, but maybe i should start.
Good for you Stackhouse, Keep up the good work. Pushups are a good indicator of your overall strength another is pullups. Weight is in realtion to your height and mass. I don't know why your Doc would tell you to lose another 30 that is alot unless you are like 5'5". Get it under 200, keep doing what you are doing and feel good this Summer.
I'm 75 years old, and I haven't tried it in years. I started to break down after 8 pushups. I don't do any regular exercise. I eat thoughtfully, and keep my weight down.

it's amazing how much weight you can lose by just cutting back on the junk food & soda. i feel like half of the weight i lost was attributed to not mixing my alcoholic beverages with soda
how is your BP so low? i am thin/fit now and my BP is always 140/90 or somewhere in that neighborhood
