My first landlord in San Diego died while surfing at 104. His stated secret: He got divorced every 5 years and then got a new Ukrainian mail order bride.
It is interesting, though, that according to the above, the fifteen oldest were (or are) women!
I do agree with you about not wanting to live nearly that long, though, Suburban Guy! (I would hate to live past 80, and I'm 64. It seems to me that unless someone is VERY lucky, things start going to hell in a hurry after 80.)
At that age all of your friends and most your family (even your children) would be/could be dead. Beyond the health issues, I'm not sure I'd want to be so alone like that at that age unless I had a good support group around me.
Social networking. This is what churches, bowling leagues, garden clubs, and quilting societies are for. Get out there and get involved.
My paternal grandparents lived to be 95 and 99. I'm not sure I'd want to live beyond 70ish.
Get back to us when you're 65!
When I was a kid, I though 60 was old. Now that I'm 55, I think 70 is just starting to get old. I try to do all the things the experts say to stay healthy. There aren't any guarantees, but I'd like to have some time to play after I retire.
That seems very old. Though my grandma is 101 but she is just waiting to pass since she can no longer see or hear and there's nothing that can be done medically since it's old age. I did have a Japanese hospice patient who was 110 and the family was devestated and seemed suprised when she passed.

Wow, I know your grandma's got many stories to tell; what she's seen, been through, etc.
I used to work with a man who said if he had to die, he wanted to be 98 years old and shot by a jealous husband
