Drinking plenty of water prevents many health problems and as you age, it's even more evident. My husband and I both start getting cramps or charley horses if we need more water. Neighbor has a UTI - needs to drink more water. Granddaughter got kidney stones - needs to drink more water. The list goes on and on. Don't let yourself get dehydrated.

I've read some people add a bit of good salt to their water. And we add Ultima electrolytes twice a day.

This is an excellent article that sums up the latest research on caffeine. After skimming the article, I had trouble finding the limited drawbacks to caffeine usage on general health. One item to note is there are some differences between coffee consumption and the use of pure caffeine. In other words, researchers have found benefits to drinking coffee that aren't replicated with pure caffeine.

That makes sense to me. Coffee is made of coffee beans, a natural food that is very rich in antioxidants. So is tea.

I've been drinking coffee every morning since I was a child (we're French), and I drink homemade brewed green tea at home as my beverage of choice. I now am trying to drink 3-4 cups of water daily. That's not as much as I need, but I'm working my way up.
