The AB crunch machine. The one where you sit in it. There is none at the Anytime Fitness I go to. Just the AB twister machine. That one causes me problems from the twisting motion so I don't use it.
It doesn't sound like you know a lot about exercise. These have been used for quite some time. They're typically called logs in the bodybuilding world. Loaded movement training is extremely effective. I've trained myself and my clients with them for the last 15 years. Not exactly a fad.

There is a log in the gym where I usually workout. I've seen it used maybe once or twice in the past 10 years. I've worked out in around a dozen gyms in PA, NY, NJ, FL, Washington, D.C., and Texas over the past two years. I didn't see a log in any of those gyms.

Cool story Bro. Don't care. They were used consistently in many of the gyms I worked at. As stated, it doesn't sound like you know a lot about exercise and it shows by the fact that you called it a fad. I don't know too many fads that have been around for over 2 decades. And FWIW, the gym I work at in Texas has a bevy of them (my local gym that I workout at when I don't feel like driving in to my workplace does not).
The OP asked "What equipment is your gym missing you would like to have?". I answered. The question wasn't "what equipment does Villageidiot1 approve of"

A reverse hyper machine. Great way to work your back and help prevent injury without putting pressure on the spine. I'd love to mix that in on the days I don't deadlift or squat, or at least use it as an accessory movement on those days that I do.
