How fast do you walk?
I got kind of curious, so I counted the steps for one minute. I really only had a vague idea of what it might be. I only walk for 30 minutes and only do it on days when I do not go to the gym. Probably average 3 days walking a week.

So.
For me, 110 steps per minute. Stayed the same throughout the walk. Age 78.
For you?

I don't know my steps per minute while walking, I estimate it be around 150. But I want to say it's only 1 variable in speed, your stride length is another.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I usually do 10% incline at 2.7mph 3 days a week and then 5% incline at 3.3mph the others. But it's enough lol

I take a brisk walk almost every day, 30 minutes to an hour. Just for interest I clocked my step rate - right at 120 steps per minute.

I go at least 3x/week at 10% incline & 4.5 mph . I used a chart and it gave me 144 @ 5mph ( no option for 4.5). I,m going to speculate at about 130-135. At my height 6'8 I'm guessing this is fairly accurate. However my old treadmill only has about a 55 inch deck.

I looked up the military standard. Its 120, 30 inch steps.
I'm a tad slower than that, but my stride is right at 20 inches. That's around the neighborhood.

On the treadmill I go 4.0MPH at 5% incline, but not for very long. I like to do lots of different exercises and don't want to spend more than 15 minutes on the treadmill.

To everyone who says 135 to 150: NOW, Y'ALL ARE BOOKIN'!
I'll make myself feel better by thinking you are younger than me.

If you have an iphone it will record several aspects of your walk. Speed, stride length, asymmetry, etc. and you can get data by day, week, by month and year comparison. I am developing problem with me knee so i find this ver useful.

Your pace per minute is good.

IMO,

The HBT...Heart Beat per Minute is important.

I'm 65 and 5'2" so I've always walked fast. Last night on the treadmill I counted 128 steps a minute. I think I had it set at 3.6 mph.
