Not sure your age but 5'4 and 116 doesn't sound like you need to drop lbs....make just get toned/put on muscle which will help you get leaner as well.

I think more important than weight and height, which can be quite misleading is body fat percentage....but most would not have an accurate idea of that.

Best post of the entire thread. I completely agree with this.

Yes! I'm 36 5'2" and I weigh 88 lbs. but most of it is fat. I rarely exercise so I don't really have much muscle. I'm trying to start running though.

How do you guys calculate your body fat % other than water displacement? What formula do you guys use?

I have a scale that gives the %, but from what I've read, they're not all that accurate.

id love to see people with actual water displacement tests done and what they look like. on the fitness forums ive seen, they are all estimating on a picture and they all kind of learn from each other what's what. but i dont think many of them really know. when i started about 10 years ago, they were saying 10% for a lot of people who were reasonably lean. it seems these days the number for that is more like 15-17% (for guys).

ive never measured mine with any method so i have no clue.

Try this:

Body Fat Calculator

I also have a digital scale that estimates bodyfat, and I also agree it's not accurate.

I think any estimate that doesn't factor in waist size isn't going to be very accurate.

Seems right to me.

The estimate on my HealthOMeter digital scale puts me around 17% while this bodyfat calculator puts me around 8%.

My abs are visible and they are beginning to have a chiseled look.

From what I've read in abs books, abs don't become visible until you're below 10%.

Also the muscle definition in my legs would probably not be as noticable if I were at 17%.
