Hello,

I've been reading the P90X threads and realize that would probably kill me! Is Power 90 a good workout to start with? I'm looking to lose 60-80 lbs.

Why it sounds good - Not enough room at home to make a gym but it sounds like I wouldn't need too much room or equipment other than mat and dumbbells. Also, I like the idea of doing the same workout every other day. I think trying to learn too much would just overwhelm me.

Where I'd at - I do belong to a gym but HATE it so things I can do at home are much better. I am doing one exercise class at work 1 x week and am trying to walk my other lunch hours (not as consistent as I'd like to be). My diet sucks but I have given up my 6 can per day soda habit - which is still a daily struggle even after a solid month. I'm going to buy a jump rope and maybe a hula hoop (things I can do with my daughter).

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Deanna

P90 is a great place to start out at, especially if you have not been too involved in exercising currently. P90X is meant for more advanced users (usually). I myself did one (1) round of P90 and two (2) rounds of P90 Master Series before I started on P90X. I am currently in my first round of P90X and almost done with it. I can speak from experience that if your not used to extensive cadio workouts then you definitely should begin with P90. If I had started out with X, It would have kicked my butt!

I wish you the best of luck with what you decide to do.

When I started out on P90 I was 269lbs with about 38% body fat.
Currently 218 lbs with 17% bodyfat after almost a year. Im not ripped right now, but on my way to getting there. As others have said, this isnt just a workout, this is a lifestyle change. You really need to stick with the nutrition plan and keep uo with your workouts every week!

Pretty soon, you'll be able to BRING IT!

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks desert20. Great job on the weight/body fat loss!!!

I still have the beachbody website up in another browser and almost ordered. I keep reading horror stories about how beachbody keeps charging credit cards for 'memberships' and for dvds the people didn't order. Last thing I need is more stress! I'm not having any luck finding actual stores to just drive to and buy it Also, if I just buy it from a store I can pay cash and my husband won't know how much it really cost!
