I recently ran my first 10k (which is as far as Ive ever run before) in 58 minutes. Its 6.2 miles.
I didnt run in an actual 10k race (not yet) but I did two loops around my normal 5k loop. According to my nifty iPod Nike Plus, I did it in that amount of time.
Never ran an hour straight, but at my best I ran 5 miles in just under 36 minutes at the annual Over the River Run in Vicksburg, MS. I would guess at that time I could have made it at least 2 more miles in 24 more minutes, maybe 3. I must add that the course was almost completely flat which I am sure aided my time a bit.
Ok, don't make fun but I don't know if my tread mill is metric or not. I used to run at "5" for an hour and that is when I would reach "5.00" distance....I think it was miles and not kilometers.
(I am in Canada and bought it in Sears, it could be either measurement)
I'm slow...my record for one hour is 5.2 miles. But, hey, that's still about 600 calories burnt. Soon, I'm hoping to run a 10K in an hour, but I'm not sure if that's going to work out. I haven't made much progress yet.
Man you guys are awesome! And for the record, I don't see ANY joggers here - these are RUNNING times.
I'm slow - a 10 min mile is about the best I ever do. I've done 6 miles in an hour, but that is only on a real good day. When I do a half-marathon, I slow way down.
