Thanks for sharing everyone. I think using the Wii will be a great way to keep myself active without going into overdrive on my 2 rest days. I definitely look forward to picking up the EA sports and Gold Gym's Cardio.
Wii Fit Plus...may have to wait. Reviews seemed a bit mixed for people already in fair/decent shape. Maybe I'll look to purchase the board separately.
I got the Wii Fit thing, and I tried it out. I figure I will use it on the days I don't do the treadmill. I after using it I could really feel it. The Rhythm Boxing thing really got to me, the next day I about couldn't lift my arms.... so I am figuring I need to do that more. I also tried the Yoga part, I think that is something I need to do after the treadmill. I found that I can really tear up the Hula Hoop and the Stepping thing is a lot of fun....BUT I am not sure the Cardio part of Wii Fit is enough to get a good cardio workout, seems like the activities are too short to get in a good workout in that area.

You're right, the Wii Fit's cardio exercises aren't very strenuous. I think they are good for beginners or people who are working up to more difficult activity. I got the Gold's Gym boxing workout for the Wii a little over a week ago, and it is much better than the Wii Fit version. Those routines get me sweating and breathing hard. It's $20 on Amazon--I definitely recommend it.
Me and my husband have had the Wii Fit for about 5 weeks now.
But we also go to the gym just in the 5 weeks I have lost 12lbs
Not too bad and have about 50 more to go.
Hoping that bikini I have in the drawer will fit again come summer time!
I don't really use it for weight loss (I don't need to lose weight), I just find it fun. A couple of times I did the Boxing for 30+ minutes straight just trying to master that last level, 30 minutes burns 300 calories so I guess that's a lot. When I finished it felt like I stepped out of a pool lol.
Some of the Yoga is a little hard, I'm flexible but I can't stay balanced in those weird positions.
You can do streaming Netflix on the Wii, too! Love this feature. We watch more movies and TV shows this way than by waiting for the DVD's to arrive in the mail. I also have several yoga and workout DVD's saved in our Netflix watch instantly queue so now the Wii is offering all kinds of ways to get my butt in shape. Netflix: Rent as many movies as you want for only $8.99 a month! Free Trial
