I apologize if this is a bit graphic but is it safe/okay to work-out if you have a hemorrhoid? I never got any until I started weightlifting and this is my second occasion in 6 months. It's coming out a little bit, it doesn't hurt really, just a little annoying. I am supposed to do squats and deadlifts shortly but I don't want to make it worse. Anyone have any advice or experience with hemorrhoids?

If it does not bother you then don't worry about it and let it be. If it gets to be too big and is on the outside your doctor can lance it for you in their office. Sounds gross and painful but it is not. It is more one of those....... what a relief... THANK YOU! You will know when one gets to that point. Otherwise just eat right and keep working out as that helps things...........em, move better so as not to aggravate the problem.

Any sort of "straining" can cause hemorrhoids, be it from constipation or weightlifting.

Ya, I am pretty sure the two times that I got them is from straining from lifting weights. I increased the amount of weight for squats a couple days ago and I don't think I was ready for it. I just need to make sure I'm not trying to do more weight than I can handle. I have no problems in the bathroom department...no pushing or straining so I'll just have to be more careful when lifting weights. As far as today goes, I'll probably take it easy for the lower body exercises.
