Does anyone have any suggestions for a certain brand of "comfort heels" that look nice, but that you could walk relatively far in? We're spending 3 weeks in Paris and Barcelona and I'm taking my Privo clogs for everyday wear, however, they don't make me feel very pretty if you get my drift! I'm only taking jeans, dark jeans, so I'd like to dress them up with heels and accessories for dinner and shows. I need to go out and buy a pair of shoes that have those kind of high heels that look like they are hard but they are really soft, rubbery material, like the ones made by Sofft, Ecco, or Dansko, I know there are others. Anyone actually tried walking at least a mile or two in these? Here are some of the ones I found, anyone with direct experience, please let me know if they are worth the money. Thanks.

Try softspots. I would avoid anything with a skinny heel, though, as you may be dealing with cobblestones.

Ditto--check out a wedge or an espadrille that might give you a little more support. If you're not going to be wearing a skirt or dress, you could probably get away with a dressy flat or shoe with a short heel.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not the OP but I want some pretty shoes I can walk in. I wear tennis shoes when I am out shopping or will be on my feet for hours. It would be nice to have some that are comfy and supportive while being a little more dressy. Something I can wear with jeans or bermuda shorts, or with a pretty skirt.

I used to have some shoes like these but with a chunky heel instead of a wedge, and I could wear them all day.

I like the ankle strap, so they're not flip-flopping up and down, and the closed toe means my feet won't slide out the front. I can't have anything between my toes for long periods of time, so a lot of sandals are out.

The only type of high heels that I can walk a long distance in are wedge type heels.

My other types, there's no way in heck, I can't walk that far in them.

I love wedges...they give your legs the look of heels, without the unstability....I can wear them for hours and hours, on lawn surfaces, carpet, pavement...whatever! I prefer one with a bit of a "platform"...gives you the height of a 3-4 inch heel, but because of the platform, you're only raised about 1 1/2 inches.....great optical illusion!

My Michael Kors 5 inch heels are pretty comfy. And believe it or not, I have 6 inch stilettos from Fredericks of Hollywood that are VERY comfy. I originally bought them for halloween, but now I wear them with jeans also ... I LOVE them !

If you are trying to sight-see in Paris you will be dealing with cobblestones and you will be walking more than 2 miles per day if you are trying to cram it all in...even riding the Metro. Pack blister treatment supplies too! Been there, done that.
