They do hurt your feet and are difficult to walk in. There are also somewhat unsafe, at least for me. I tend to catch the front of them on the pavement or ground. If I have a long walk, I will take them off and carry them and just slip them back on to cross gravel, thistles, or really hot asphalt. Funny now I think about it I realyl hat ethem, but I still wear them because they are convenient at times. Plus they only cost $2 on sale.

Sandals and flip flops are very different things. Sandals are basically shoes with holes cut in the leather. I love sandals. I have some that were made specifically for hiking and they are fantastic. THey do leave a funy sunburn pattern on your feet though.

Like, Reefs, Vans, etc., yep, my husband wears them anytime it's not raining and when he doesn't have to dress up for an occasion.
