I personally cannot believe it's been 30 years since Diana married Charles. I remember watching it! At the time, Charles seemed so OLD!!!

My mother was Canadian so she was all over it.

agree. I also think Diana would absolutely give her stamp of approval for Kate (or Katherine as the Royals now deem her to be called)
Both had/have impeccable style and wear that very well.
Love the hats both wore but Kate really looks beautiful in her hats.
Diana was so very young when she emerged into the spotlight and it took awhile for her to mature and find her sense of style. Kate, being older seems to have her sense of style down to a fine art.
Both are/were beautiful,classy ladies.

I would not throw either one out of my bed. I think Diana was far "prettier", but she always looked so fragile, brittle, stressed and unhappy. Kate looks good, she is far sexier looking than Di, I hope she won't lose wieght, she looks good, and could even use a few pounds. I think she will come into her own, but will never have the ethreal, charisma of Di.

I wish her a far happier life. I personally think wills giving her his Mother's ring is bad karma. I think that ring is cursed.

They are two different individuals and should not be compared. each one has their own identity.

I'm on Team Diana also. This will offend some but Diana was a royal & had superior genetics. Wills is obviously departing with SOP & marrying for love. I shouldn't say this, but their relationship is likely doomed.

Diana was not born royal. She was a born member of England's aristocracy. She became a member of the Royal Family upon her marriage (by decree of the Queen) and was stripped of that designation upon her divorce from Charles (by decree of the Queen) There was a lot of hoop-la.

That said, here genes probably were better than Charles'. It's one of the reasons the royal family wanted her. The Royal Family has a history of genetic problems. She also had more English blood than Charles could ever dream of. William will be one of the most English of Kings for generations because of Diana. (Interesting he wore the uniform of the Irish Guards.)

OK: Team Kate or Team Diana?

Both!

She was from a more elevated bloodline & had connections to the Royal family. Excuse the discrepancy. Kate Middleton is a *commoner*.

Diana grew up in front of us, from a clueless schoolgirl whose fashion sense was laughable she became a mature, worldly woman with a mature and sofisticated style. Kate is already a mature woman and I suspect fashion isn't her top priority.

As a citizen, not subject, I don't really care, lol.

(I'm a bit of a student of English history since Victoria. It's the only reason I know. Being "royal" does not impress me.)
