I go back a little farther to the Hee Haw girls....

And am I the only person that is truly sick and tired of seeing belly buttons everywhere? Jeez Louise, put it away!

No crop tops for me... I also rarely show cleavage and haven't owned a two piece bathing suit since I was 12 or so. I'm just not a huge fan of showing off a lot of skin...I did buy a pair of shorts this summer for the first time in probably 10 years My friends were shocked.

I have done this (similar) combo as recently as over the summer...but not sure if that top is really considered a crop top.

I think if the upper midriff is showing in a matched ensemble just a little bit, it can look early 60s and very resort chic, but most outfits will be a miss. It is the belly button that takes it to Skanky Town.Jeans don't help matters.

Like the yoga pants, it depends on what you wear them with. A well-made crop top can look really classy with a pair of Palazzo pants (high waisted, wide leg). By well-made I mean a decent fabric and a good fit.

Definitely looks bad with a flabby waist or with too tight pants or shorts or other cheap, revealing clothes.

I wish I had the body to do skanky. At my age even on the beach I cover up as much as humanly possible. I miss being young. I had a great body way back when. I don't think bare midriffs are skanky. If you've got it flaunt it before it's all gone.

They look good on women who have the body for it.

I saw a woman the other day with what appeared to be a big C-Section scar. She should not have been wearing it.

I agree with Auburn above me. If you have the stomach for it then do it! I'm more of a stomach-butt kind of guy. Boobs are not really my thrill. I fit tummy being shown off is pretty hot though. Havent decided yet if they are skanky though. It takes alot for me to think a women is skanky. I have met ALOT of conservative dressed women that are freakier than the ones showing everything off. I tend to think fathers and overweight women are the ones who think trimmer girls are skanky when they show off thier bodies. To each their own I guess. When a women show's off her whale tail (her thong when she bends over) is kind of skanky. Just my two cents (or 4 cents adjusted for inflation these days).
