My question is.....seriously....how much lipstick would you have to "eat" in order for the lead to truly effect you?? It seems so minisule. It is different for the toys that contain lead paint because a child is consistantly putting the toy in their mouth and it can flake off. I am not saying it is ok just simply that I would not throw out my favorite lipstick because of it.
I wear this blistex infusion... moisture infusion something.. it comes unflavored, or cherry flavored.
I hate lipstick, I hate the feeling of tasting lip glosses, etc... bleh. But I love this stuff!!! it comes on a metalic roller ball. and it's clear
I was told years and years ago that most lipsticks contain whale ...stuff. I don't want a mod cut, hmmm. whale sperm? but it's not the sperm really, it's just the consistency of the ... nevermind. But I don't wear lipstick because of that. It tastes bad, i'm always wondering if I just drank out of a cup, do i have to put it back on? is it still on the cup? is it on my teeth?
Well 'they' say the average woman consumes 6 lbs of lipstick in her lifetime. I would imagine that in between each time its consumed, the lead is filtered out of the body to some degree. The only problem with this is how much is left over in our systems? How much of it builds up? The fda does regulate how much lead is allowed but its still a shaky system. They come up with these rough estimates but because makeup doesnt have a serving size, per se, that food or candy would have- its really tough to regulate the amount allowed in cosmetic products.
