Why are there so many men that dress like slobs. In clothing that doesn't fit. Or pants that sag so low they can't even walk. Or dirty baggy white tees that should have been re-purposed for dust rags, 3 years ago?

What are these men thinking, it is so not attractive. They really should present themselves better and stop being so slobby.*

This is tongue in cheek. Way too many threads talking about women's attire and looks here, time to reciprocate.

Glad I read the disclaimer because I was just going to say that men aren't judged on their appearances nearly as harshly as women are, so they can get away with it.

These men are saying only a few things. They can't dress better for a variety of reasons or they could care less what you think. Most of the time, they could care less what you or anyone else thinks.

That guy wearing a dirty t-shirt with raggedly boots could go home to a mansion and fart through silk all night, how would you know?

Sometimes, people just don't care what others think they think about.

The other day after cleaning up after working on my car (something very nice btw) I needed some coffee creamer. Just walked down the street into town. I looked rather ratty for sure. I bet most people seeing me thought I was probably homeless, indigent, needed to wash, could use a good meal and couldn't possible have a really nice looking partner (FM btw). They'd have been right only for #3.

When I got back home, I washed, put on my usuals, brewed up some coffee and sat back to catch a movie...on a screen suitable for IMAX with my hind end cuddled in a leather sofa and if I needed to but didn't, fart through silk.

Some (mistakenly!) think, "Oh, it's a buyer's market for meeting and dating women. What I look like doesn't matter, because I am the one doing the choosing".

Really. If a man is so inclined, it is always a buyers market and that is a proven fact.

We dress like slobs because we're cheap, we don't chase fashion trends, we get fat and we still wear the same clothes with our bellies hanging over our belt and we actually do like the plumber's crack look.

And we're smart enough to know that clothes aren't that important and we can weed out women from our lives who judge us on our clothes.

because in the United States (and maybe other Anglo dominated places?) it is not manly to care about style?

Because their 'worth' or 'market value' (as many men like to say about women) isn't dependent upon their looks; women cannot say the same.
