Triangle, or pear-shaped. Wish there was a little less " shape" on the bottom half.

I'm hourglass as well. I wear dresses that are cinched at the waist where the length falls at the knee. I wear jackets that are cinched or belted at the waist and they fall at the hip, nothing longer. My pants fit at the hips but are looser in the thigh.
With shirts and sweaters, I try not to wear anything that is "too busy" around the neckline and bust, like ruffles.
I agree about longer shirts and dresses. I'm only 5'2" and I think anything that's too long or not defined at the waist makes me look shorter and frumpy.
