yep, good ol' Dihydrotestosterone acting up on men in their early 30s and up leading to hair growth in all the wrong places like the ears and back.

most asian men have little hair and precisely because of this, in asian porn, a hairy body including the pubic area is highly desired. it's the scarcity deal. it's vice versa in america where everybody is shaved outside of superstar ron jeremy. i myself once had a girlfriend who hated body hair on men so i did remove it and i felt awful. i hate having smooth soft skin like a girl. i prefer body hair. i have had hair since i was 15 on the chest. i have not yet seen a guy outside of the asian race with zero body hair/no chest hair at all.

it will be an absolute miracle if you find a pure greek or italian guy with no body hair : D

I am Irish-German heritage and I have very little chest hair, and what very little did show up, I shaved it off as it looked stupid. It was also coming in white. I do have short hairs around navel to pubic area. There are a few sprouts around nipples which I keep trimmed. There is very little leg and arm hair as well. Some men, I think, look very good with chest hair; however, some guys, it looks kind of silly IMHO. Each to their own.

Naturally? Sure--not to get too personal, but my dad is one such guy.

I meant in the sense that I am sharing private/personal info about my dad here.

yes but even if we knew he was a this tall or that short or what he actually looked like, what difference would it make? we will never see him or you or anyone else. it's not like bank account info that you could lose money. he is one guy out of billions on the planet that you would be describing. it's not such a big deal. he is your dad but to us he's just another random guy off the street you would be describing.

My mom says my dad never grew any facial hair or owned a razor. Me on the other hand, I got my granddad's (maternal) hair and he had plenty to go around lol. I remove the hair from my arms and legs. My real dad had a good head of hair though and apparently I did get that also.

Of course there are many men with very little or no chest chair throughout their lives. Other posters have noted that ethnicity has a lot to do with it ... certain nationalities are hairier than others.

Having said that, my own "research" and observations have revealed that the significant majority of adult caucasian men do have some degree of chest hair. What percentage? I don't know ... but an educated guess is approximately 60% - 85%.

A group of men I am familiar with are the male stars of the so-called "Golden Age Of Hollywood." Say, from 1930 - 1970. Most Hollywood stars had a scene or publicity shot or just a personal photograph with their shirt off and the overwhelming majority of these actors had chest hair. Hairy "Hollywood Beefcake" includes William Holden, Rock Hudson, Gary Cooper, George Nader, Aldo Ray, Clint Walker, Sean Connery, Robert Mitchum, Marlon Brando, Guy Madison, Paul Muni, Fred MacMurray, Mickey Rooney, Tab Hunter, Tony Curtis, Charlton Heston, Burt Reynolds, Chuck Norris, Alec Baldwin, etc., etc.

Only a few Hollywood stars (that I could think of off the top of my head) had hairless or "bald" chests: Buster Crabbe, Ronald Reagan, Richard Gere and Jan Michael Vincent.

The determination of who had hairy chests is not easy: some actors shaved or waxed their chests. William Holden was an extremely hairy guy, but for the movie "Picnic" his director made him shave it all off.

Some guys just have a very little or wisp of chest hair like Clark Gable or Paul Newman. One guy - baseball player Mickey Mantle had only light blond fuzz on his chest as a rookie, but in middle age his chest hair darkened and thickened.

A good book showcasing the chests of Hollywood male stars is Shirtless! The Hollywood Male Physique (2000) by Donald F. Reuter.

similar to this, only not so much on his tummy:

Chris Evans: Shirtless 'Details' Magazine Shoot! | Chris Evans, Shirtless Photos | Just Jared

That's about as much as I prefer as well... more than that and I'm not really caring for the look so much.
That is about the same amount of body hair I have. Perhaps a slight bit more. But I am 22, so that might scale into a bear at 40+.
