The truest reply to this thread. Women buy expensive clothes, shoes, jewelry and accessories for other women. Do men really care if a woman wears a certain brand of makeup or has a $3K fashion designer's purse? Do you know what I could do with $3K other than appease my vanity? I could buy a cool used car or repair one in the shop. A transmission job costs roughly $3K, remember that when your car is broken down and you can't afford the repairs. Money is but a tool, use it wisely. You can't barter with useless baubles as cash is what mechanics want.
Women love to one up each other to the point they are driven by it and end up detesting the other for doing so. I have had every one of the women I have dated exhibit such behavior. They run up credit cards trying to stay ahead of the herd.
You are dating the wrong women. Most women are not like this at all.

You put it like your interest in cars is superior to interest in clothes and accessories. In fact, it is not.
I find as I age that less makeup looks better. Moisturizing and caring for my skin, then going sparingly on the makeup (no foundation, limited eye makeup...mostly use mascara to tint my lashes, a sheer cheek tint, and some type of lip treatment, be it balm or an opaque color) is most flattering in my case. Going any heavier than that on makeup is just asking for product to settle into fine lines that would otherwise be indistinguishable to most and accentuate them, even with primers and such.
So wrong. E.g., many actors and actresses wear dental veneers (I'm dreaming of them myself Lol) which look awesome. Without veneers their teeth would look bad (dark, wry, jagged). Here is what I've googled for example:

Do you really think the more "natural", the better looking on this picture above? I don't see why you should not hide your blemishes on face if you can, have enough money and time.
Tom Cruise has terrifying choppers both before and after cosmetic enhancement. But, at any rate, this thread is about makeup, not orthodonture. One is notably more invasive (and more permanent) than the other.
