My mom used to love Minsk fur and then suddenly she had a massive change of heart. Literally it happened over a course of one month but I found her crying on a few occasions because she used to love them so much once upon a time. She discarded them....didn't give them away, burned them. And they were very expensive. Like a collection you cherish!
I have also seen other women think it is unethical. Where do you stand on this topic? A very expensive fur coat can be very attractive and soothing in the winters, but it is made from mink, rabbit, seal and sometimes even dogs. Is it a sensitive issue or are PETA advocates extreme?
Love fur, but I do not own any.
No different than owning leather, IMHO!
Dog coat? In what country?
This is how I feel. I'm all for ethical treatment of animals and am an animal lover, but if you eat meat, wear fur, have eggs, etc... I don't see any of that as being different from owning fur.
Dog fur? Never heard of such a thing. Unless you mean coyotes?
no reason to ever wear real fur, there are plenty fake fur out there is you want a look or feel. minks, rabbits, seals and dogs? no need to farm raise and kill them for me to wear a stupid coat.

Agreed. Wearing fur is unethical, IMO. Leather is a little different, because people eat the meat as beef. Killing an animal for purely aesthetic purposes, (especially when synthetic fur is available) as opposed to nutritional reasons, seems very selfish to me.
If I lived in the times before central heating, I may have a different opinion, but I agree that wearing fur is at best unnecessary and at worst unethical.
My mother has a fur coat that she inherited from my grandmother. The poor minks are long dead, so she wouldn't be encouraging a brutal industry, but she's never worn the coat in public because it doesn't seem right. And who knows what kinds of reactions people may have.
Regarding the dog fur, any coat that comes out of China with fur collars or cuffs is made from dog hair. The manner in which the dogs are killed is pretty brutal as well. Many are electrocuted and skinned alive.
My mother has a mink coat she inherited from my grandmother and asked me if I wanted it and I said no.
I'd never buy a fur coat, personally. I'm not one of those maniacs who throw paint at people who would choose to wear it, but I won't do it. My mom has several that I'm sure she'll pass down to me, but I'd never wear them.
