The only thread I could find was someone asking about acne issues. I'm trying to find a SIMPLE face wash then rinses that removes makeup and leaves skin clean (I do use eye makeup remover pads) - everything I used to use and liked (except the Neutrogena bar soap) has been discontinued (of course, that's a whole 'nother rant).
I picked up Garnier Clean + Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser and HATE it.... you apply it to dry skin and massage (which is fine) and then use cotton or water to rinse - Well, water does NOT rinse it, it still feels slimy and not clean. I used a cotton pad w/witch hazel after to check and still had "color" coming off and this was just after using only a BB that day.
Would love any recommendations (and I'm calling Garnier tomorrow). Should I stick w/the good 'ole Neutrogena bar? I want to: take off eye makeup w/pads, then just use something to wash face and get it clean!
I just bought a pack of the Burts Bees cleansing cloths for sensitive skin, and I love them. I have to keep my nighttime routine as easy as possible, or I'll wind up forgetting/skipping.
I use several things, but I have used Philosophy's Purity for a long time. It washes everything off and does not dry out your skin.
I am probably much older than you, so I like to try different brands depending on how my skin is reacting and that might be something you want to think about as you look for cleansers.
I like Kate Somerville's face wash, Mary Kay has a nice creamy one that also exfoliates, and Loccitane has a nice foaming wash. You might also try Josie Maran's argon oil cleanser. Her products are very nice.
CeraVe cleanser -- cleans well, rinses easily, doesn't dry my sensitive rosacea skin. Good price, and at the drugstore. I follow with Neutrogena non alcohol toner, then my rosacea gel, let it dry, then CeraVe moisturizer.
I've used good old Noxema skin cream to wash my face nightly since I was 12 years old. Now in my early 50's. My skin looks pretty good by the way, I'm often mistaken for someone 10 years younger. Noxema takes all the make-up, grime, eye-make up off and leaves your skin comfortable and refreshed, not tight and itchy like soap. Whenever I try anything else, my skin get's "mad" at me, and the next thing you know, I have redness, itching, hives, etc. I have sensitive skin. I do second the vote for Burt's Bees products, though. I use the Burt's Bee's facial moisturizer, lip balm, and Bees Wax hand cream nightly all winter, after washing with my Noxema skin cream. Depending on you skin, my kids' used Neutrogena Acne wash throughout their teen years and early twenties, and had incredibly clear skin compared to their peers, they swore by it. My daughter now uses Cetaphil cleanser, and loves it, but she uses Nozema for her eye makeup removal. So there's some good product suggestions for you that are proven, and won't break the bank.
