They don't seem to be around as much anymore. I myself haven't worn them in years but I used to love them. My favorite pair of jeans at one point was a pair of black Levi's that I had for five or six years. I've considered buying another pair at some point. Anyway, just curious.
In some circles they're actually pretty "in" right now.
Personally, I like 'em, but I think they're less versatile than regular indigo denim. And also, many of the looks that look good with blue denim with not work with black. So to me they're more of a specialized thing, but they have their place.
One nice thing about black jeans is they give you something to wear a blue jean jacket with without creating that "double denim" look.

That's true, they're not quite as versatile. Another drawback in my opinion is that they don't look nearly as good when they fade as blue jeans do.

Love my black jeans!! Have had them for abt 3, maybe 4yrs. They're Jessica Simpson's. Got them at Macy's.
Haven't faded and fit like a glove!!
That's pretty good they haven't faded. They Levi's I had faded fairly quickly.
