There was a lady at our company event who was an attention getter. She had a lovely physique, yet constantly said... Gosh I'm soooooooooooo fat! I seriously had to walk away from her. Her ego was crowding the room....
Why can't people just be polite. Why obsess over other people's motives since they probably are insecure but so what? Be kind. Why is that so hard nowadays?
Suggest to them to lay off the swine, soda and anything white (bread-pasta-potatoes-rice) and drink as much water as possible...in an encouraging way, of course.
I've been fat and skinny and know how delicate a topic this is. I am in good shape now and healthy... not bone thin but not heavy either. I find I really don't compare myself to others as much since I finally did what needed to be done. When I was heavier, I was much more insecure. That's really all it is, insecurity. If anything, I try to have compassion as someone who needs to lash out like that can't feel much good about themselves.
