OMG, that's so weird you should mention Clinton's front teeth! I notice that all the time...with her money she could get the best New York has to offer...and yet...that big yellow horse tooth!

As for the gap...well, there are gaps and then there are GAPS. Some are really cute, and others are off-putting so it depends. I don't think we could give advice without a photo.

My daughter had some bonding material put on her gap when she was in high school. After awhile, it started to discolor, so she had it removed. Now her gap is barely noticeable anyway. It closed up a bit, over time.

That's hilarious! Yeah it was the 2008 cover of Time where I saw her teeth. I was having mine finished up at the time! Started in 2007.

I had to get my top gumline reworked for #8,#9 so I was particularly noticing THAT LOL. I told my dentist "Hey look! Hillary's dentist didn't even bother to fix her gumline". hahaha

But even her first Time cover as a young woman - that one tooth is "wrong" and from a distance appears to have a crown even back then.

See All Hillary's TIME Covers | Time.com

It's just so incongruous. Considering all the flack she took for her ankles in the 1990's and converting to pantsuits because of it. Why wouldn't you have a complete dental done - even if it's not all crowns - before running for President? Especially too, when she saw that ONE Time cover in which they totally photoshopped her teeth and made them ultra blindingly white. Take a clue, hon!

I mean, when even average people like the OP are self conscious and shouldn't be.

There's a fine line, though. I've seen some people who come out of the dentist looking like a piano. Not sure which is worse.

I am trying SO hard not get political here, because it really was just a cosmetic thing, but I HAVE noticed that people who are somewhat crooked, often subconsciously "signal" that in strange ways. I mean, I'm not talking about natural character in uneven teeth, which I find lovely, by the way, or when someone can't really afford to have them fixed...but it's like that thing in a cartoon where the bad guy smiles and suddenly the sharp tooth appears, or the gold one glistens omminously.

It was more than just weird, it was a red flag.

But the OP does not agree. It's their smile, and their life. If it bothers them enough, they should have it corrected.

Why was Hillary Clinton even brought into this discussion? Are TEETH a political issue now, too?

HRC does not seem overly interested in her outward appearance. Some people are. Others are not.

This is NOT a political issue - it's a personal one.

I brought it up to illustrate how complex it is to have your front teeth done and requiring gum surgery too. Having a public figure with even Time magazine covers focusing ON those teeth is rare.

Sorry you didn't understand my VERY detailed post.

Would you like to contribute a different analysis based on YOUR dental experience - like I did with my 2 year treatment plan and >$30,000 investment?

Although some of the comments are positive, "No, gap teeth are cute!" "no, you look beautiful as you are!" ETC.

I bet you none of those people would actually want to have gap teeth. If you believe that having the gap teeth are negatively affecting your life in any way then get them fixed. Don't buy the positive support since at the end of the day YOU are the one that has to deal with it.
