The problem with going braless is the puritanical attitude that the female breast needs to be hidden from view because the mere sight of a bouncing breast or an erect nipple with be the downfall of adolescent males, or shows the lack of morals on the part of the woman. With the easy availability of porn via smart phone, tablet or computer I'd venture to guess that there's not a whole lot of mystery in regards to the female form.
The constant pearl clutching ... IMHO is the problem. Making a big deal out of something that's not a big deal to begin with. I have visited nude and topless beaches in France and Greece and never saw a young man banging his head against a rock, staring, or walking around visibly excited at the sight of a topless young ( or older ) bare breast.
Here in Ca I can walk around with my breast totally exposed with the exception of the nipple, but if I cover said nipple with a silicon replica that looks EXACTLY like the real thing it's totally fine. WTH ( heck)?

I also think that the problem isn't so much a bra or lack of one--it's people's hangups over it.
It should not be a big deal if someone wants to forgo the bra.
As a 34DD it's painful for me to not wear one but hey, no judgments if someone else doesn't wear one.

Unfortunately, I had one breast removed, so I must wear a bra in order for them to match. If I had my druthers, I would have had them both removed at the same time. It would have been easer.
It's expensive and a long recovery.
If they were so large I was in pain, I would consider it. They are just bigger than I'd like and I think they look odd on my frame. I'm personally not going into debt for aesthetic reasons and to go braless.

Maybe, maybe not. Me personally, I've never attended a demonstration where the hostess dressed that provocatively for women but maybe I travel in different circles.
