My plan is to stay in my house, teaching and studying, until there is a vaccine. But what if Edward (my cat), Charley (my husband) or I need medical attention? To that end, can anyone recommend a mask? Looking at Amazon, there are a lot that have bad reviews. Recommendations appreciated.

Oh, I have a lot of pretty pashminas. I wonder if that would work?

I googled this, not knowing what it is. It came back as "pashimina", a scarf. It that's it, sure it would work as a mask.

You're both incorrect. It's "Pashmina"

If I have COVID, the mouth covering would serve to protect others, at least to some extent. Of course, getting others to wear masks is not easy to enforce, especially in my community.

There are all kinds of masks, scarves and other items for sale online. I want someone who bought something serviceable to share a link from where they got it.

Well if you're truly never leaving your house except under dire circumstances, I don't think it would matter much what the mask is made of.

That said, I don't think there's a depth of knowledge right now about cashmere vs. covid.

Cashmere is out of the question. I avoid animal products. But the phrase "cashmere versus COVID" doesn't make any sense to me.

Again: I am inquiring whether anyone has purchased a usable mask.

Yes, a scarf/pashmina could qualify if the order in your state merely calls for a face covering.

A pashmina would be pretty bulky, though. Do you have any smaller scarves or bandannas?

There are lots of videos online that show how to make a DIY cloth mask at home.

Allow me to narrow my question down to the smallest elements:

1. Have you purchased a serviceable COVID-19 mask online?
2. Could you provide a link to the page where you purchased it?

Thanks!

You might want to research what pashmina is.
