I have a Magic Focus Big Eyes gooseneck mirror, omgosh I love it for plucking. Trouble is they don't make them anymore, but I do see them on Ebay. They were made for doing eye make up, one eye at a time. Super focused and work great on chins and other facial areas. Company was from Kansas I believe, I got mine in the late 70's. My gooseneck part is so floppy now, my husband keeps fixing it for me, lol.
It would be against the TOS to do this, but I have a NYT subscription and can give you the short version. The article makes these points:
Chin hair and other facial hair growth is very common and is caused by hormonal changes. Unless there's a medical cause, it's normal and nothing to worry about.
Excessive hair growth (hirsutism) may be caused by genetics or a medical condition such as PCOS.
Long-term use of corticosteroids, which are used to treat some autoimmune conditions as well as asthma, can also lead to changes in hair growth patterns because they stimulate androgens.
The only permanent solution is laser hair removal or electrolysis. It's generally safe, but electrolysis may not work well if you have light hair. Laser hair removal may cause burns to dark skin. Threading or waxing may destroy hair follicles and inhibit future growth.
It's a myth that plucking will make the hairs grow back coarser.
There is a prescription medicine called Vaniqua that helps, but only as long as you keep using it.
