Lisa LaFlamme was dismissed after a decades-long TV career, not long after she stopped dyeing her hair, setting off debates across Canada about sexism, ageism and going gray.
Her departure set off multifaceted debates across Canada, especially after The Globe and Mail newspaper reported it may have been linked to Ms. LaFlamme’s hair — which she had chosen to let go gray during the pandemic when hair salons and other businesses shut down. The rage right now is going Platinum. Even young children and yound adults are dyeing their hair platinum. I'm quite sure there is more to this story. It is not legal to fire someone for the color of their hair. In Louisiana, we are "fire at will", which means we can fire anyone anytime for any reason. Of course, there are a few who sue for being fired for no reason and have occasionally won. Most other states you have to have a viable reason to fire someone. I have seen this before, it's largely just a rumor.

My hair is white/silver. I used to have a cheap halo style wig, and the color of the wig was platinum. It matched pretty well.
