Pantyhose is out now? (legs, guys, male, look)

Saw a piece on Good Morning America this morning regarding pantyhose in the workplace. It seems that Mid American Credit Union in Wichita, KS has mandated that all female employees wear pantyhose (I assume that rule is only in effect when wearing skirts or dresses). The women claim it's an archaic rule and should be abolished. Pantyhose are "hot" (and not in a good way) and "itchy", so they say.

Apparently someone at The Wall Street Journal agrees (side note: doesn't WSJ have anything more important to look into, given the current economy?). Pantyhose sales have declined since the mid-90s, they say.

Since I wear mostly slack or jeans, I rarely wear pantyhose anymore but I always wear it (them?) when wearing dresses or skirts. I don't find them uncomfortable at all. And they are excellent for preventing thigh friction (not everyone is fortunate enough to have thighs that don't touch). Am I some sort of dinosaur? Am I destined to carry the entire pantyhose industry on my legs?

They are dead in my book. I HATE them. Whoever invented them
was a sadistic person. IF,and I mean if I need to wear something,
I wear knee high. But then I dont wear my skirts short so I can get
away with that. Most times, I just go bare legged. Except in winter
but thats when I wear said knee highs, and thick ones at that. Pantyhose
are just plain icky all around to me. JMHO

You go Nelly!! I'm with you!! Plus, while wearing bare legs things can get pretty drafty! What really gets me, is there are women who actually wear dresses and skirts without a pair of panties. Good for your spouse and spice, bad for your co-workers! Especially if the gal is having a stressful day-if'n (sniffin') you get my drift-or should that be draft? HE!HE!

I only wear pantyhose with designs on them. Other than that, there's no reason to wear such uncomfortable attire.

Gawd, lets hope so! I havent worn those since high school, before I discovered thigh high stockings, ad havent turned back ever since!

I'll have to admit I don't wear skirts or dresses often, but I threw out all my pantyhose years ago....I can't believe that a company would be so archaic that they would require women to wear pantyhose! I"m not a young 20-something....I'm approaching 60 so I grew up w/hose and pantyhose. I hate the darn things and if men had to wear them...they wouldn't exist. Give me a break. Use self-tanner on your legs and keep you skirts/dresses at a decent lenght and you don't need the darn things. In winter....wear slacks!

Well, ok, if we want to go back to the way-back machine... remember stockings and garter belts ??? My school had a dress code which required stockings, which meant either girdles or garter belts.

I was in heaven when pantyhose came into style!!!

Honestly, I find them rather comfy. I don't know why other people find them so uncomfortable!

I wear skirts and dresses often. In the spring and summer, I'll wear Spanx rather than pantyhose because they get to hot. The Spanx help with the whole inner thigh friction- especially since I walk miles and miles in skirts. In the winter, my favorite things are my black pantyhose.

It depends for me. When wearing more casual style dresses and skirts, then definitely no pantyhose. Same with evening gowns and cocktail dresses, no panty hose. But when wearing a formal business suit that is a skirt or dress with a jacket and high heels, then yes I'll wear panty hose. Something that formal and conservative does not look right with bare legs, IMO.

Yes you can't go to a job interview or business meeting in a business suit without stockings on - it just isn't appropriate. Otherwise I never ever wear pantyhose...
