I keep telling her the economy is going to crash and that she needs to watch her money and all those beauty treatments will be only for the very rich in a few months as our economy starts moving into a very deep economic recession/depression.
As you go to your various suppliers of beauty, do you notice that business is down due to people cutting back?
What parts of the beauty industry are most at risk in the upcoming year as the economy continues to crash and burn?

The most expensive cosmetic procedures (surgical procedures) will be the first to 'crash'. I am also guessing that some of the less expensive services will start to see a decline as people are opting to try at-home treatments instead. The only thing that I find interesting is that its been proven that in bad economic times, people will still find a way to spend on money for self indulgence. Not on a large scale but for small comforts that will make them 'feel good' during those times. I used to sell beauty products (Avon, MK, you name it) and I always found that regardless of my clients economic situation, they always had the money to purchase their favorite products.
Your telling her to stop the spending, and along with similar action by several million of your fellow doom and gloomers may just be what it takes to make it a self fulfilling prophecy. What a lovely outlook !
