I've never had any luck with ANY of the mineral makeups. The powders always end up in the wrinkle around my eyes, making the wrinkles WAY more noticeable than they are without any makeup at all. I wear MAC makeup with their line filler and it works really well for me.
Same complaint from me. The powder settles into fine lines making them more noticeable. Of course, I still use a mineral makeup (neutrogena), I just don't put it anywhere near those lines.
I tried some of the cheaper department store brands but they are quite noticeable because they use talc to bulk the product out. I switched to Laura Mercier mineral powder which is just minerals - no talc. Although it costs 4x as much it is 10x better and has a higher SPF (about 10 I think). You can't even see the powder on your skin.
I like everyday minerals too. They have a cheap sample kit. The glow formula + finishing dust looks most natural to me. If its settling in lines that are not there you are using too much or should try a primer underneath.
You can mist the top with MAC fix to resmooth & refresh it out.
Be sure your face is dry before applying. Sometimes the minerals will stick if your moisturizer is still damp on your face. Using minerals can take a little trial and error in the beginning. Apply very little at a time and build on more in areas of need.
I've been using Mineral Secrets for about 4 years now. It works very nice for me.
I had a girl do it for me at the mall once and it looked great, felt great but the stuff (and I can't remember the brand) was really expensive.
Too pricey for my budget.
I just find if I do it myself now with the stuff I have I end up with making my pores look more enlarged.
Guess I'll just keep practicing and will make sure my moisturizer has had time to absorb before I use it, although I usually do.
Thanks for the tips Beth.
