Isn't May 24th an election day?

I have just begun to look into this, and don't even know if it is for primaries, or non partisan offices

Thanks, I have been forced to abandon my laziness
and start looking things up for this election,
since it is only about three weeks away.

I will try to post more, later.

Looking at my voter registration it shows my political party as optional. How do I change this? Also can I vote in the upcoming primary next week?

I am fairly sure it doesn't matter. When you get to the polls, for the primary, they will ask you which party, and you just tell them. You can change parties, each time you vote, for all they care. That is, until you want a job inside the party, then you have to vote what ever party you want to be in. There are lists published, who voted, and for primaries, in which party (but not who you voted for).

If you have your card, you can vote.
If not, check the following two sites for info:

Am I registered?

Arkansas has open primaries, meaning you can vote for either party (or write in bugs bunny), and still vote for whomever you want in the general election (if you are registered to vote).

A few states have ‘closed’ primaries. Link below explains the differences.

I voted.

Despite plans to vote a few days early, I voted early this morning.

A lot of people running unopposed on the Republican ballot.

I know two people who have been all but drafted for public office, in this area. (Someone came to them and asked them to put their name in, no petition, no signatures, just sign here... ran unopposed... ) Campaign funds? What campaign funds? LoL !
