I'm working on it!
I've got shelves of art books I've collected, some are duplicate, triplicates, and I've been amassing picture frames from thrift stores, many of them only 99 cents or $1.99, some $2.99. My last haul: 30 frames! Before that 25!
I live in car-centric, stuck-in-the-60's, conservative Las Vegas, where we're the last big city not to have a world class museum, and it doesn't look like we're ever going to have one.
So, if I get the "itch" for art, I can fly to L.A. on Southwest for as little as $78 round trip, and with my $7 TAP card that covers all the rail/bus lines.
So now I've decided to have my own museum within the walls of my house. I've started with my favorite, Dali, and have 20 of his paintings in frames, then on to George Grosz, then Picasso, then Miro. I've got plenty of wall space, and if I run out of space, there's always walls in my garage.
How about you?
