I am looking into buy some land in northeast Arizona next Spring. Can anyone tell me is Arizona taxing off-girders on solar power, dirt roads or in other other areas of people who wish to live a self-staining life style. I am also looking into Northern, New Mexico. Thank You.

Not sure about taxes, but rules vary quite a bit county to county. I think Yavapai county is the least restrictive. Coconino county that Flagstaff is part of has a lot more rules. Contacting either directly could probably help you out with tax info as well.

Also you may want to post this in the Prescott forum, as a lot of Ashfork residents at least used to post there a lot, and Ashfork is predominantly off-grid. You might get better answers there.

Awesome. Thanks, "Gemstone and Infocyde" that's what I badly needed, information. I am native. My tribe is in the Northeast and I haven't really thought about tribal land. I did find some land northeast of Flagstaff for sale, off-grid. I'll be looking at the Prescott forum and will be calling any county where I am looking. My requirements is for the land is for it too be dirt cheep. I need a good vain of clay and rocks, be it on the side of a hill or down flat. But the biggest requirement is, "To be as far from people as I can humanly get! I'm just another one of those fools who wants to protect our would through example and teaching. I'll be using geo-thermal heating and cooling, rock walls, high and low risers, wind turbines, solar power, water filters, cisterns, swamp coolers. I'll teach anyone who is willing to learn a different way of life. One that is a lot better for our planet and Us.

There is a community of "earth ship" builders in New Mexico, might be worth checking out for you. Some people of a similar mindset I think also are in the Ashfork area, but your neighbors will very greatly.
