We've been with allstate insurance for a couple of years, a year after Charlie are agent put us with another company, then changed us 1 yr later because the company they put us with did not have good financials. So now we are with Universal. We are moving up to Gainesville (from Orlando) and are deciding whether to go with Universal, Florida Family, Royal Palm, St Johns -- but am at a loss as to who is good or not. AMBest does not have any statistics on any of these companies.

Anyone have any reviews about these companies?

Thanks in advance,

Allstate is dropping us as of August after 6 years so we went with Royal Palm. Don't know much about Royal Palm but that was the cheapest rate for us even though it doubled our premiums. Haven't heard of any of those other companies you mentioned either.

Have you tried contacting the Division of Consumer Services? They're under the FL Dept. of Agriculture (not sure why) and they might be able to give you the information or steer you in the right direction.
