Since you are going to be able to live rent free, also has a job lined up for you while waiting to be a police officer, I don't know that you have any negative factors to consider trying a new place. Palm Coast, just putting aside the job availability factor for the moment, is a very nice place to live in, bring up a family, and, and retire in, eventually. It is a small progressive city, close to the beach, with all kinds of activities you can relate to since you're involve with golf.
You can be part of that growth, and again, because it's a bedroom community (taking the job factor out of the equation, though you can go 30 highway miles out on either direction and find better jobs depending on your qualifications), shouldn't expect much by way of young adult entertainment, though if interested in nature and sport activities, and not just youthful goodtime ones, Palm Coast has loads of them, like I said, we are a progressive community, and these are already in place.
