Thanks in advance for any replies.
Ask your hotel. Not staying in a hotel? Check Yelp or ask a local bartender.

I guess that's what I will do. I was just hoping that someone who lived here could give me a recommendation. It's not that big of a deal and I have checked yelp, etc.

I really appreciate that you took the time to answer me. Thank-you so much.

Why not get the pedi before your trip?
It'll probably be more expensive in Key West and then you wouldn't have to worry about messing up your toes while running around Key West right after they're done?

That's exactly what I should have done! I'm a procrastinator and ran out of time for no good reason. I'm already here and posted that question the day before I left home. It was a very last minute trip and I didn't find out that I was going to be here until a few days before we decided to come.

My husband was invited to speak on a medical panel here and we weren't going to do it, but then we thought, oh well, why not go and have a little vacation at the same time.

It's really not a big deal, my toes aren't that bad and I'm pretty sure that no one is even going to notice but me. And if they do, that would be pretty funny! Hey, look at that woman's toes! LOL

LOL - glad you got a giggle from my comment! So far, it's been a great trip - we found a really cute B&B to stay in and everyone has been super friendly. (Maybe they're talking about my toes behind my back, though - lol!)

Reality check for vacation planning.

I'm hoping to go to the Keys someday, next couple of years. I'm a slow vacation planner

One of the experiences I imagine is the drive in/out. This is due to the iconic movie and tv overheads of characters driving that road. Which show it as not particularly crowded, sunny etc.
There is probably traffic...weekends? Best time to avoid?

This would probably be a shortish trip, fly into Orlando to visit family, then fly to Miami, stay in a key that isn't KW and visit KW for one day, probably 3 nights total, back to Orlando and out.

If you have favorite times of year, places, experiences to share that would be great. I will be skimming through the thread and looking at trip advisor. I'm an older single traveler who likes nature and birding. Recommendats for hotels/B&B/places with outdoor bars and dining, want to spend as much time outdoors as possible.

Stop at every single Key going done there...pretend you live there...go to the markets, the hardware stores, the post offices...get the real quiet, fragrant feel of the place..the sounds of the gulls and the palms.
Summer is definitely slower. Outdoor bars like Tiki Bars will be all over.
