when I look at posts like this I view the source right away

this source is hardly neutral and very left leaning.

I know this winter was colder than usual here in northern florida and the Uk is having a terrible summer this year along with argentina having a colder winter and malibu getting snow for the first time in many years.
after katrina we in florida would receive record number of bad hurricanes , well they never came

even a hundred year ago people said we were doomed the world is nigh is flat, etc

The article doesn't say how emissions are causing it it just states we are causing it

Anyway I have not a mansion, nor private plane, or an SUV or a limo or keep jetting off around the world and until others get rid of theirs who tell me to make sacrifices then and until then I will change my lightbulb to a mercury one until then I will drive the little car I have as it's all I can afford to work and to my kids school

Global warming seems to be a natural cycle, for someone to claim that it is caused by humans is ridiculous. We simply do not know. And cutting back on energy use will further degrade living standards.

I have searched and searched for any info about how we as humans and how emissions etc are affecting the climate and it's quite intersting where some of these climate testers are being placed

another point I would like to ask and still can't get an answer is why was the world was warmer 300 years ago and why have we gone though 12 natural climatic changes yet this one is different and caused by us

here is an interesting thread I found from RI on nthe same discussion

//www.city-data.com/forum/rhode...ri-snow-2.html

I'm not disputing it but I will certainly pay more attention when those who preach to us actually practise what they preach instead of jetting around in private jets, big limo's, have mansions etc etc

Talking What? Me Worry?

After observing promos on Al Gores Inconvenient Truth I started reading different pro & con articles on global warming and noticed during the 1940s the earth was in a cooling cycle. ALL OF THOSE BOMBS, EXPLOSIVES, OIL FIRES, NO EPA POLLUTION STANDARDS FOR PRODUCTION OF WAR MATERIALS, EVEN THE A-BOMB that were all going off during the 40s. AND THE WORLD WAS COOOOLING OFF!!!!! Another thing I find very contridictory is that nothing is really mentioned about POPULATION CONTROL .In the early 70s there was a big ZPG (zero population growth) movement. If we stopped reproducing long enought to let this poor old over populated world heal from the pollution for a few decades Would it be wiser to stop the population growth long enough to get some answers to solve the pollution problems, then AFTER the pollution problems are solved THEN HAVE KIDS.

I watched a programme last night that reckons with all the extreme weather the world is experiencing lately (the excessive heat in parts of the country and drought and then the floods etc like in the UK) we are heading possibly for another mini ice age....

So who knows what will happen

Nobody ever talks about population control. That is the best way to improve everyone's living standards, zero population growth, worldwide! It will never happen.

zero population growth: The limiting of population increase to the number of live births needed to replace the existing population.

Zero population growth occurs when there is neither a net growth nor a net decline in population, but rather a steady state in which the numbers added by annual births and immigration exactly balance the numbers who die and emigrate each year. Zero population growth is the ideal to which nations (and the world as a whole) should aspire in the interests of achieving long-term environmental sustainability.

The concept, popularized by a group called Zero Population Growth (ZPG), that individuals should only reproduce themselves at the replacement rate; for example, a man and a woman should have no more than two children. The reason for this concern is the alleged overpopulation of our entire planet, which, zero population growth advocates believe, would be resolved if they and many others bore fewer children.

Others allege that poverty and hunger are primarily the result of an inequitable distribution of available resources, not overpopulation.

Zero population growth advocates may be actively involved in the group that formally promotes their philosophy, or they may be informal believers in this concept.

If many people were zero population growth advocates, then the alleged worldwide overpopulation problem would probably be resolved; however, many people believe in bearing many children or do not believe in using any family planning method, with the end result being they bear many children whether they planned the births or not.
