You can find mobiles on land in the $35,000 to $45,000 range in Hernando County.

Similar mobiles will rent for $500-$600 in the same area.

Renting 1st might be best then I can get to know the area. I really do not want in a 55+ comunity, but would love to be near shopping. Schools no problem my brats in his 30s.

A lot of counties effectively prohibit old mobiles from being moved and set up elsewhere. Since Hurricane Andrew, Wind zone stickers must be on the trailer to be able to legally set up in most counties.

Old mobile homes dont have them so they cant be moved to another site because the counties wont give you building permit to set them up.

Plus some counties inspect used MHs and demand that you fix or upgrade them before you can get the power turned on.

Katie1, you may have to go into the area and look around. FWIW, my father had a doublewide in a riverside park in Ft. Myers. His second wife has been unsuccessfully trying to sell it at $40K. Lot rent is about $500/mo IIRC.

And a good thing bout trailers in the deep woods is that you can park yer bulldozer outside and not have the neighborhood association get all riled up at ya:

You can find them in the range I told you but on land, not in a park.
No lot rent, but taxes and insurance still wouldn't come close to $500 a month.

Thats what I am interested in Mike. I have owned several trailers on their own land. 1 was a 8' x36...10 x 55...my biggest was 14 x 60 . Do know what I am getting into. But I have never had any in a MH park. Any web sites I can look at some? Oh small lot is ok...
