I had the exact opposite situation, after a visit as a teenager, I was thoroughly repulsed by the idea of ever living in Florida. Fast forward 40 years, retired, and staring out the window at the Jersey shore all winter, I had a sudden epiphany..... Well, there was more to it than that, but you get the idea.
