I have a job interview coming up for a job that is located in Daytona that I have a pretty good shot at getting. It's located near the hwy and the speedway. Been searching for apartments, and saw a few complexes that had decent reviews in that area. Any advice for apartments that are in that general area? Also found a complex near the beach called the Overlook, but it's gotten bad reviews on ApartmentRatings, but sometimes it's hard to tell if it's just a couple of people putting up troll reviews or what. Thanks

Generally speaking, most rentals that are nice are usually on Jimmy Ann Drive, Clyde Morris Blvd, Dunn Ave and Beville Road. They are newer, well managed complexes that cater to University faculty/staff and medical center employees. These are all very suburban living complexes.

The Overlook is an older building that was gutted and remodeled about 5 years ago. It's in an amazing downtown location on the Halifax River and all the units have balconies. You can walk to popular bars, restaurants and the beach -- all down the street this complex is on. Lots of surfers, skaters and people who can bicycle around town from there. You can also launch a kayak or windsurf right out the back door. The only negative would be traffic noise from the Seabreeze Bridge the complex faces.

Good Luck!

thanks, couple of the places I saw online I liked were on Clyde Morris. (Wood Lake and Wood Forest)

Really liked the pics I saw on the Overlook, but man they get hammered on reviews, not sure I want to go there

Clyde Morris is where all the available apartments are. Some are really nice with community pools, laundry, etc. real safe, but miles and miles from the ocean, so I didn't even consider them an option.

What are you using to search for apartments? Zillow.com? Craiglist.org? Apartments.com? I am wanting to find a month-to-month in the area and have not found a good search tool based on lease length.
