And what do you about it since you're a FL native? Do you mock them back or do you say, it's you people that messed up my state? Why don't you do something productive at once instead of whining like an 8 year old!

It's called jealousy. When tax time comes around, those two groups of people wish they were Floridians

Most of them don't understand that people in Florida work and do normal "life" things. People from elsewhere that visit FL usually do touristy/vacation things like beach, boating, golf, theme parks, bake in the sun and turn into lobsters, etc. They think that's the what people do that that live in FL(just like they ask you where your suntan is when they first see you after many years...because they think everyone in FL should have dark tans because they think we give a hoot about that). There are probably some half joking remarks on conf calls about you being at the beach or boating or things like that because that's their only vision of life in Florida.

In reality, they really don't understand so there is no use in arguing. Besides, who wants MORE people to come down. It's crowded enough. Let them think it's better where they live.

You're damn right. Instead of living in some cramped shoebox in a concrete jungle taking the subway with chumps, I have a nice car in a nice house on the water.
