Hello all,
We're looking to move to Seminole county, Winter springs, lake Mary or Oviedo. From what I've read they seem to have great schools and it looks to be a nice place to live. Can anyone give me any info on these places or suggest others? We dont want anywhere thats super quiet, and are looking for a decent low crime area, good schools, family neighbourhood and shopping close by.
Thanks in advance....

You need to be a little more specific with your price range. I'd suggest the Tuscawillia area between Redbug and 434. House prices range from about $400,000 up to about $900,000 If you live on a lake or golf course, or if it has more than 1 acre, it will be obviously cost more. Keith and Rainbow elementary schools are both excelent. Indian Trails middle school is excelent. Winter Springs High School is excelent. Anything you buy in the $400,000 range will need interior renovation.

Lake Mary and Heathrow have some gated communities where houses typically sell in the Million+ range. Almost anything you find there will also likely be no less than $400,000.

Seminole county homes are presently fairly expensive, and they haven't gotten hit as hard by the slow real estate market. Families with kids are moving from Orange County to Seminole. Casselberry, Sanford and parts of Longwood are less expensive. One thing you will notice in Seminole county is that the parents are VERY involved in the public schools. Personally, I think this is a good thing, but they butt heads pretty hard with the administration and teachers on a frequent basis. There are some very head-strong parents in that neck of the woods.
