Their members do not ask you for money, they just smile and ring a bell.
Then they wish you a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.

How can anyone even be offended by that?
If you're gay or transgendered

When I was a social worker they helped many of our clients and most of the money goes directly to people versus salaries. I am not fond of their religious beliefs but always donate because of the good they do.

I had a bad experience with them this weekend here in Tullahoma, TN. I'm walking out of Wal-mart and they had the bucket set up between the doors and there were two of them blocking the sidewalk so I couldn't turn left when exiting. I had to go out into the traffic lane to get around them. Then the guy says " Thank you! Merry Christmas." I almost went off on the idiot.

I do not put my charity contributions in a bucket; I write checks. There is NO REASON for them to lay a guilt trip.

So if you are gay or transgendered, you would be offended by a group that helps the needy but does not agree with your lifestyle?

Would that "offended criteria" also be applicable to others that come to your need such as fireman, policeman, or simply a stranger that stops to help you change a flat tire?

Lol, only because the courts forced their hand. Kinda like Chick-fil-A finally giving up on donating to gay hate groups.

In 2012 leaders of the Salvation Army and other faith groups issued an open letter denouncing marriage equality as a threat to religious freedom.
Would much rather donate to red cross myself

Oh my God, really? I've heard it all now.

If you don't like it, ignore it. They're out there doing that for a charity. Probably unpaid volunteers. I don't know. But I do know is that they're DOING SOMETHING FOR A CHARITY. Do YOU do anything for the needy?

Great post.
OK you should use a grocery delivery service since this messes you up so much.
