Note: I've also posted this to the Miami forum, I hope it's okay. I'm trying to get as much help as possible.

I'm asking this question for my neighbor, who was arrested by Immigration early this morning (I don't know who else to ask besides this forum, as I'm an American born citizen). She's waiting to be deported to Peru (it's a possibility she's being held in Miami at this point [she was originally taken to Tampa]). It's unclear whether or not she will return at this point.

Her family (they're currently legal) has asked me if I could help them find a DECENT immigration attorney based out of Miami.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated through this forum or direct message.

I'm not sure, as of yet. I'm trying to let things cool a bit before I question. Her mother (who's in her mid 60's with VERY limited English) is staying alone next door, so that's just adding more tension to the problem.

I am curious though.

I don't know the extent of what she did - so if she doesn't belong here, so be it. However, please don't go accusing people you don't know. She was a student here, so she did have a right at one point. My guess is she was on a student visa, took a couple semesters off, or she just didn't renew paper work or something. Her family is also here legally.

If you're not going to be helpful, don't respond at all to this. If you want to rant about "illegals," do it on the Immigration forum.

OP: start here. Miami Give them a call and they can get your started. Good luck!
