I'm driving up to St. Augustine from Miami tomorrow and was wondering whether I'll still have to deal with the pests on my drive up the Turnpike & I-95 or if I've managed to miss them this season. I'm familiar with the May & September mating seasons that last approximately 4 weeks, I just don't know if it has ended yet. Thanks.

I saw them more than once floating in heaven here in the Hammocks, but no one outside of SW Miami was able to correlate their status North and West from here.

It seems like this Spring was a weak 1st Season for 2021

I appreciate your response, but I'm not really interested in whether a few are here in Miami with us. I'm wanting to know whether my car is going to get splattered with hundreds and hundreds of them as I drive 300+ miles north.

But thanks anyway.

Well that was exactly what I was trying to find out if North and West from here it was bad. I need to Travel to the Suncoast and I will also not do it in the middle of the Infestation.

Good Luck

My niece has been driving Miami-Stuart Stuart-Orlando and Orlando-Miami every week for the past few months and she said the lovebugs are not out and have not been bad this year.

No, the season is over. You'll see the next batch around September-ish.

OP is being silly about the lovebugs. Sure, they happen but are far from a nuisance.

Want to be overrun by lovebugs? Travel I-10 over the Atchafalaya basin in Louisiana.

May of 2011, I lived in Cocoa on the Indian River. We were inundated with love bugs. I was sweeping hundreds a day out of my condo, I don't know how they were getting in. The building I lived in had yellow stucco but the south facing side was completely black. It was awful!
