Out of towners ruining the beach experience for everyone. Flash mob overruns Walmart, causing management to close the store early.

Quote:
Several businesses closed their doors early Saturday night after a heavy police presence was called to the area for traffic and crowd control.

News 13 spoke to Panama City Beach Police Chief, J.R. Talamantez. As of 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, beach police confirmed they had shut down Front Beach Road from the intersection of Middle Beach Road all the way west to Richard Jackson Blvd.

When asked if people were behaving any worse than typical spring breakers, Talamantez said aside from people “acting a fool” nothing violent is happening at this point.

He said he would not characterize any of the activity as a riot.

This event seemed to be the genesis of the problem. Addressing this issue will have to be handled delicately because of today's victim mentality. But you can't deny who seem to be causing all the problems.

Many people are posting videos and photos on social media showing the aftermath of some shoplifting and vandalism at the Walmart. Other videos of massive traffic jams and an unruly crowd in the middle of Front Beach Rd.

Bunch of low class people, what do you except? Race is irrelevant. When you get large congregations of trashy and uneducated people white or black you probably want to avoid that area…..

The ban on alcohol on the beach the last few spring breaks in PCB had seemed to dial back the chaos an appreciable amount. Guess that’s not working as well this year.

On the bright side, at least there don’t seem to be nearly as many deaths from people falling/diving from 10+ story condo balcony areas as there used to be.

I considered Santa Rosa Beach for retirement, but when I visited the area one Spring, and saw all of this near the PCB Pier shopping area, it contributed to our decision to choose Venice instead.

These Spring Breakers come over from Texas & Louisiana I was told. Some come down from Alabama too. Those are the car tags I saw the most of too.

Clearwater Beach hired a consultant that specialized in cancelling Spring Breaks, so PCB should hire him to clean up this mess for them.

A study showed it was more profitable to shoo the young people away, because more families came instead, & others who spent more $ and required less "community resources".

Reports state 78 people from Alabama were arrested in PCB yesterday related to the Walmart looting and other stores. I find it interesting watching the video at how they all seem to be laughing and having a good time tearing Walmart up. We have reached a point where it has become completely unacceptable and something is going to have to be done. We are headed down a very slippery slope now that can turn ugly if we don't get a grip on it.
