Hi,

Florida is one of the locations I've considered moving to. If I were to move there, I'd probably pick a location and rent for a while and explore different cities. I've read about the insurance crisis but most of the articles have to do with homeowners. Is insurance for renters (say for an apartment) difficult to obtain? I'm mostly concerned about contents and liability. Or is that kind of insurance hard to get as well?

Thanks!

It's not hard to obtain. Many property management companies require you to prove having it before moving in. There is also typically a clause in the lease that will mention renters insurance. On average I'd say it's going to run between $10-$20 a month depending on the area. More if you add coverage such as personal and living expenses.

Nope.. it’s easy to get as it’s cheap. Sometimes you can bundle it with your car insurance .

That is what my son did. His auto insurance only went up $2 a month.
