Ft. Myers was probably the best place I ever lived. I loved it there it was laid back and peaceful and once you got back into the Lehigh Acres area and even further inland near LaBelle and places like that, It was beautiful and " natrual " Florida.

Plus the beaches there are nice and WAY less crowded.
SW Florida has some very nice areas but Lehigh Acres is not going to be showing up in any of those conversations, that's just not a good area,I call it a suburban, country, ghetto.

Yes , and it is why property there is at least 20 % less than say Naples and most of Ft.Myers.
Fort Myers is not appealing to me at all, Naples would be better,Sarasota, Brandon,LakeWood Ranch, even Venice.

Have you tried a little further up the coast? Melbourne is awesome, and there is no wait for any of the restaraunts. The thing about the melbourne area is all the drivers drive slow but courteous at the same time. Plus you have Indialantic/Satellite beaches which are wonderful and never crowded.

You can't say that the west coast of Florida is better than the east coast of Florida simply because you do not like Aventura/Miami-Dade county. The east coast consist of a lot of other places that compare to the west coast like Stuart, Vero Beach and Merritt Island, just to name a few.
