People driving in the left lane and passing in the right is a bigger problem than speed.

I get the impression that some feel its ok to drive in the left lane just because they are doing the speed limit. (I don't mean people on this thread just drivers in general)

I used to be one of those who would haul ass on I-75 and get incredibly pissed off when someone would slow me down. I don't know what happened to me but I just woke up one day, realized the world did not revolve around me and that everyone else on the roads life is just as precious as mine and I slowed down.

I won't lie, I still speed a bit but if I have to be somewhere so important that I have to drive 20+ miles over the speed limit cutting in and out of lanes, then maybe I should just leave a few minutes earlier. Novel concept I know but it's how I feel. No one out there is more important than anyone else so slow down, take a deep breath, put some good music on and enjoy the ride. And stay off my ass or I will run you off the road. I may have changed for the better but there is still a little of the old me still lurking.

I stay off I-75 altogether unless I absolutely have to drive it.

It's full of morons driving too slow or too fast.

Weirdest thing is I-75 in Fort Myers.

South of the river it's difficult to get people to go even 60 or 65, and I've had people merge on there at 40 and not accelarate.

North of the river it's difficult to stay under 80 in either lane.

Speed limit is 70 in both places, I try to go 75 and stay in the right lane.

I usually try to find a "car buddy" to drive with. It's harder to be singled out if you're in a group.

PA is 55 on some highways and very strict about it.

I think OH is 65 on I-75 and very strict about it too.

MI is 70, but they are somewhat strict.... leniency does not extend beyond 5 over.

Here in FL, FHP is so understaffed they usually only bother going after the worst of the worst speeders....... and the sheriff's are too lazy or too busy to work the highways.....
